This artwork is apart of the series ‘pieces of my heart’. The four artworks shine a spotlight on each of her brothers, expressing her love and appreciation for them, and honouring the individual and unbreakable bonds she has built with each of them as they overcame obstacles, never letting go of their courage, positivity and gratitude.
At its heart, the pieces of my heart series is a homage to Mali's family, exploring the beautiful familial bond that forms between those who survive the storm together to see the rainbow on the other side.
